The Trustees welcome members of the Club and Trust willing to help in promoting the Trust and Club by taking the Ulster to suitable events approved by the Trustees.
Approval for use will normally be given to the first qualified applicant to request use via a fully completed official application form (available from the Secretary), but the Trustees reserve the absolute right to allocate usage as they see fit. All requests for use are subject to approval by the Trustees.
Journeys must be limited to those associated with the collection and return of the car and attendance at the event to which it is being taken. Use of the Ulster is restricted to the United Kingdom. Participation in any competitive motor sport or other event, either on or off public road, including treasure hunts and concours, is not permitted, unless special prior permission from the Trustees has been granted, and full insurance has been arranged.
The Ulster is insured for those using the car with the authority of the Trustees. Users may not allow anyone else to drive.
Before releasing the car, a Trust representative will brief users on looking after the car and driving it. They will be asked to demonstrate their ability to drive the car safely and sympathetically. If, in the representative's opinion, there is any doubt about the competence of a user, the car will not be released. The Trustees hope users will enjoy their time looking after the Ulster and trust them to respect the fact that the car is now 72 years old, and to treat it appropriately.
The Trust is unable to offer any expenses in connection with use of the car, which are the borrowing member’s responsibility. The cost of maintaining the Ulster to an appropriately high standard is significant, and it is hoped that those who have enjoyed the use of this very special vehicle will wish to make an appropriately generous donation to the Trust to ensure that we can continue to provide this service to members. |
